It was a bright sunny day and I may have taken too many pictures of spring crocus, but I have *zero* clue how they turned out because I couldn't see a thing on the screen in the sun. About to offload onto my iPad, crossing fingers some of them are worthwhile. If so, of course, I'll share!

Oh my golly gosh, nearly all of them turned out this time, that never happens.

Well, I’m pretty sure this outing deserves a blog post, so I’m going to limit myself here, I’ll share the post once I get it up (likely tomorrow.)

A dynamically lit collection of spring flowering crocus: some in the deep shade and some in the bright morning sun. Multi-colored lilac and white, still closed buds in the shade on the right, mostly open bright gold colored cups in the center of frame, and wide open purple-pink in the bright sun on the left.

Okay, one more. There were cyclamen too. This one has two bloom stalks coming up *through a mushroom*.

edit: it’s probably the cyclamen tuber not a mushroom cap!

A verdant patch of ground: moss, cyclamen leaves, some buttercup foliage, and a brown mushroom cap in the middle with two pink cyclamen blooms coming up through the middle of it.

I have confirmed with the garden owner that this is an exposed cyclamen tuber. He's going to grab some dirt and cover it, but I think it might have been exposed during the snow/ice earlier this year. This patch is in an area where deer pass through and I know they root around because there are regularly hoof marks and scratches around trees and other areas. I bet that's what happened here.

@anniegreens So pretty!
